Shipping - Pies are mailed frozen, but may not arrive frozen, depending on the distance they have to travel.  Each small pie weighs 1 pound and large pie pie weighs 2 pounds and 5 ounces. The average cost for mailing a small pie within the United States is around $4.00 and a large $10.00. During this promotional period we are including shipping and  handling.

Handling - Customers either thaw out their pie in a warm oven or at room temperature. If it is thawed out when you receive it refrigerate it immediately until you are ready to eat it. Frozen pies can last up to a year. Pies left out up to three days, maximum. these pies are meant to be eaten as fresh as possible because the navy bean is a very delicate bean.

THERE IS MORE TO IT!!!

Whole baked pies are shipped frozen in order to maintain the freshness and flavor but may not arrive frozen.  

VENDORS - The bean pie should be kept frozen to maintain optimum freshness. When we sell our pies in the stores they are kept cold or frozen. Vendors will often take out a few at a time and place them on a counter because they can predict how much they will sell daily. Remember - there are eggs, butter and milk in these pies. Preservatives change the taste of the pies for the worst.

SHELF LIFE - 3-5 days for the larger pies (6-inch and 9-inch) and 3 days for small ones.  

If pies are kept frozen and  wrapped extremely well they can last easily up to a year. 

If they are vacuum sealed they can last even longer.
