Why did I fail so many classes this year?
Always do your best, everyday, in every class. Life is a do-over.
What happens at school when I am not there?
Lessons are taught, tests are given, skills are presented,
students are working, and teachers are teaching.
We miss you when you are not here. Come to school daily.
Why can't I understand directions?
Ask questions when you do not understand. Questions show how smart you are contrary to popular belief. Questions show that you are thinking. There are no "stupid" questions.
What is the most important thing I can do to be a straight A student?
Work, work, work then Play, play and play.
Don't Quit, Pay Attention, Be Committed and Get excited. Stay after school for extra help. Do not get too far behind. Monitor or check your progress weekly. Let your parents know what you are doing at school. They are your best advocates.

Why do I get bored at school so much?
Sometimes what is being taught does not interest you. Sometimes
it is too hard for you. Sometimes you are just plain tired. You might even be sick that day. You just don't feel well. It is important to try and make connection in class. Think to yourself - "How can I connect this to my own life? What relevance does it have to me as a person.?"
It will then become interesting. Sometimes your head is too swelled with stuff unrelated to school. Try to focus on school matters during the day.
Why can't I keep still in class?
Remember - Mind Over Matter!!! You are the captain of your own ship. Take charge captain.

Remember - Mind Over Matter!!! Thoughts lead the way. Engage your mind with what is being taught in the class and participate through asking questions, offering comments, studying and attempting to remember information, etc.
I keep flunking my tests
Preparation beats it all. Study regularly so that you retain information in your long term memory while building fluency. Fluency is the ability to complete a task easily with confidence and excellence.
