Personal Portraits

Makini Bilal is a well established portrait artist who has been working full time in her field for the last 15 years. She has completed nearly 3,000 paintings to date. She trained at Temple University School of Art. When people view her art at such places as the local community centers and the downtown mall of New Haven, CT they can't  resist the temptation to reach out and touch her paintings for they are so life-like. Makini is a truly gifted artist who is adept at capturing the spiritual essence of her subjects. She is a recent recipient of an award for her rendering of civil rights activist Rosa Parks.
